The weekly one-hour show features interviews with Latino members of Congress, roundtable discussions with prominent journalists and commentators, on-location reports from correspondents based in major U.S. cities, and in-depth conversations with Latino writers, actors, and musicians. Epicentro receives support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting™(CPB) and is the only Spanish-language news program currently being aired on both commercial and public radio stations throughout the country.
From immigration to the war in Iraq, Epicentro provides Spanish-speaking radio listeners with lively but balanced discussions on critical topics that affect the daily lives of Latino families living in the U.S. From labor rights to education, Epicentro strives to cover stories that help Latino audiences better understand the nation's political process, and improve their knowledge of the laws being debated in the halls of Congress.
As one of only a handful of Spanish-language programs devoted to news analysis, Epicentro is committed to providing the growing number of politically engaged Latinos nationwide with information that illuminates important issues beyond the scope of mainstream headlines. Each program offers listeners a broad range of opinions and perspectives that mirror the diversity of Latino voices heard across the United States.
The work of Epicentro producers and reporters is supported by an Advisory Board composed of respected Latino media professionals. The entire program staff is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of ethics in journalism and communications. Epicentro is produced in the studios of the Hispanic Communications Network™ (La Red Hispana) located in Washington, D.C.
